GT Online Gifted and Talented WA Program an Initiative of the Department of Education. They came to Pineapple Planet after seeing us work with Perth Modern School and how we transformed their online presence. They wanted the same transformation and a website that reflects their approach and their talented students.
Gifted and talented children will do best in an environment that supports and stimulates them and fits well with their abilities and interests. Access to programs for children with exceptional academic potential allows them to flourish and receive the necessary extension, enrichment and acceleration they require.
Thanks to the use of innovative technology, students can access the online program without moving to Perth. The program can be accessed at any regional public secondary school outside of the Bunbury or Albany region. The program for Year 7 – 10 students is delivered from Perth Modern School.
Entrance to the GT Online Program is only available by examination administered by Gifted and Talented (GAT) at the WA Department of Education.
The Gifted and Talented Selective Academic Program Online (GT Online) has approximately 80 students (Years 7 to 10) from ~30 schools across Western Australia. These students live in a range of locations around the state, from Christmas Island to Cape Naturaliste, Kununurra to Katanning, and Exmouth to Esperance. The program delivers differentiated curriculum within an online learning community of like-minded peers who enjoy being challenged and connecting with each other.
We set about defining what GT Online is all about and who attends. It was clear that the website had to refelct the innovative approach GT Online has for its remote students within the Gifted and Talented Program in WA.
A photoshoot was conducted on site at Perth Modern School and also at the camp location in Hillarys, drone footage was also conducted showing a small group of the much larger group of students.
The result is a highly informative website for any student, parent or school looking for information about the Gifted and Talented Program. Everything they will need to know from how to apply, their learning process and subjects, parent information, forms and even a password protected area for those that attended the camp they run a few times a year.
It was our privilege to work with such an innovative organisation delivering innovative education to those students who need to be extended.
